Funeral services for Maria Socorro Santos are Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church with Father Nolan Lowry officiating. Interment will follow at Athens City Cemetery under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Ms. Santos went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
Maria Santos was born on June 27, 1963 in Juan Aldama, Zacatecas, Mexico, the daughter of Adan Cerrillo and Guillermina Adame. She was a very hard worker and would help anyone she could in the community. Maria loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother who loved her family and will be missed by all she knew and loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and son Jesus Santos.
Maria is survived by Damian Santos of Athens; children, Victor Daniel Santos and wife Tara of Athens, Claudia Santos of Athens, and Jaime Santos of Athens; siblings, Dolores Cerrillo, Marcial Cerrillo, Genaro Cerillo, Alma Cerrillo, Adan Cerrillo Jr., Ana Cerrillo, Yolanda Romero, Luis Cerrillo, Yessika Vega, and Maria Cerrillo; and grandchildren, Kelsi Santos, Lauryn Santos, Audriana Santos, Edrik Santos, Bryce Cloud, and Averie Santos.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, Texas.
Pallbearers will include Victor Santos, Jaime Santos, Damian Santos, Marcial Cerrillo, Luis Cerillo, Adan Cerrillo Jr.
