Obituary: Kathleen Holcomb

Funeral services for Kathleen Holcomb of Athens are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Carroll Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Waddell officiating. Interment will follow at Carroll Springs Cemetery.

Ms. Holcomb went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 9, 2018 in Athens, Texas.

Eunice Kathleen Costlow Holcomb was born December 8, 1933 in Anderson County the daughter of Ross S. Costlow and Geraldine Pierce Costlow. She worked as a seamstress for over thirty years at Mr. Fine and Hollywood Vassarette before she retired. She was a great cook, loved dancing yet her family was her true joy in life. Nanny loved spending every moment possible spoiling her grandbabies. She was a loving mother, sister grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Allen Holcomb Sr.; her son Kenneth Holcomb Jr and her great granddaughter Morgan Carter.

Kathleen is survived by her two children, Kim Feagins and husband Perry of Athens, “Joe” Rory Keith Holcomb and wife Elizabeth of Canyon Lake; five siblings, Bob Costlow and wife Betty of Bradford, Elizabeth Gregg and husband Raymond of Canton, Garland Costlow and wife Glenda of Seven Points, Elaine Creamer and husband Sam of Seagoville, Gerry Costlow of Richland Chambers; eight grandchildren, Natalie Horton and husband Robert, Rena Laney, Chance Feagins, Laurie Shelley and husband Michael, Kylie Friedrich and husband Carter, Heather Molandes, Michelle Cowart, Brittany Blackwood and husband Kevin; eleven great grandchildren, Ty Carter, Maddie Horton, Lucas Horton, Trey Shelley, Trent Feagins, Trista Feagins, Destiny Molandes, Kaleb Cowart, Mailani Blackwood, Kaimana Blackwood, Selah Cowart and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday at the Carroll Springs United Methodist Church from 2-3 p.m.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
