Obituary: Jennifer Gale (Cook) Sharp

Jennifer-Sharp-sq-273x273Jennifer Gale (Cook) Sharp, age 41, passed away May 16, 2016. Jennifer was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She loved spending time with her family, especially her daughter Claire. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and an active member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Prior to Jennifer becoming ill, she was a devoted 1st grade teacher. She positively impacted the lives of everyone she met.

Her father and grandparents are from Athens, Texas.

Jennifer will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, David Sharp; daughter, Claire Sharp; parents, Susan and Skip Johnston, Marshall Cook; siblings, J-Rae (David) Dodd, Gina (Philip) Payne, Matt (Jade) Johnston, and Luke (Piper) Johnston; sister-in-law, Christy (Greg) Lembo; 16 nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Philip and Gertrude Cerveny, Loran and Maureen Cook.

A funeral mass was held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brentwood. Visitation was held Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Active pallbearers are David Dodd, Luke Johnston, Matt Johnston, Greg Lembo, Philip Payne, and Randy Say.

The family would like to honor the team of doctors who devoted their time and efforts to Jennifer. We want to especially recognize Dr. Paul W. Wheeler, MD whose tireless efforts guided a core group of physicians, Dr. J. Christopher Wilbeck, MD; Dr. Denise Yardley, MD; Dr. David C. Huneycutt, Jr., MD; Dr. Juli Horton, MD; Dr. David P. Reyes, MD; and many other consulting physicians, nurses and other hospital staff at Centennial Medical Center and Select Specialty Hospital. We are forever grateful for your act of service, which went above and beyond.
