Obituary: Don Pruitt

Pruitt, Don ObitGraveside Services for Don Pruitt, 60, of Athens are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens with Pastor Darren Miller officiating.

Mr. Pruitt passed away on June 11, 2014 in Athens, Texas.

Donald Wayne Pruitt was born Aug. 6, 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas the son of Walter W. Pruitt and Gladys Gertrude Simpson Pruitt. Don attended Life Fellowship Church in Athens and was an inspirational man with an unbreakable spirit. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead hunting and playing golf. He loved to cook and spend time in the yard landscaping. Paw Paw was a dreamer and a fighter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his special Hico Paw Paw Pruitt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Michele Hagood Pruitt of Athens; two sons, Jake Pruitt and wife Shelby of Athens; Adam Pruitt and wife Briley of Athens; two daughters, Melisa Leeper of Saginaw, Texas; Amie Soliday and husband J.P. of Keller, Texas; two brothers, David Pruitt, Daryl Pruitt, two sisters, Linda Farris, Lorna Dibblee and ten grandchildren, Joe Pruitt, Jayden Pruitt, Juliet Pruitt, Jaxon Pruitt, Emily Pruitt, Marissa Leeper, Megan Leeper, Colton Leeper, Kellen Soliday and Adalyn Soliday.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Pruitt, Adam Pruitt, Lee Wayne Farris, Jimmy Hagood, Chris Mayhall, Jerry Washington, Truman Washington, Stephen Stovall, Shane Hagood, Josh Embry, David Pruitt and Daryl Pruitt.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Athens.
