A gathering of friends and family of Di Ann Barthalow, 63, of Athens will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 1-3:00 p.m. at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens. A private graveside service at Pawhuska City Cemetery in Oklahoma will be held at a later date.
Ms. Barthalow passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in Athens.
Di Ann was born July 28, 1949 in Oklahoma City, Okla., the daughter of Donald H. Hampton and Jean Francis McAllister Hampton. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Athens, having been a former member of the St. Michaels Episcopalian Church of Dallas. She took pride in the fact that she was a former member of the Junior League of Dallas. She was a member of the Athens Country Club Lady Lizards, a former member of the Coon Creek Country Club of Henderson County and the Pawhuska Country Club of Pawhuska, Okla. Di Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and special friend and will be greatly missed by all those she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her fiancé, Donald Gann of Pawhuska, Okla.; one son, Stephen Maxey and wife Tania of Columbia, Mo.; two brothers, Donald Hampton Jr. and wife Pureza of Houston, J. David Hampton and wife Tinker of Norman, Okla.; two grandsons, Stuart Maxey of Stillwater, Okla., Conner Maxey of Midwest City, Okla. and four nieces, Piper, Olivia, April and Haley Hampton.
