Funeral services for Darla Holleman, 51, of Athens are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with Pastor Chuck Hinton and Sister Sandy Hinton officiating.

She passed away Monday May 6, 2013 in Athens.

Darla Elaine Holleman was born Oct. 27, 1961 in Sweetwater, Texas, the daughter of Alfred Lee Holleman and Linda Elaine DuPont Grimes. She was a member of the Athens Church of God and sang gospel music. Darla had a love for writing poetry and photography. She especially loved her children, grandchildren, and her dogs, Roxie, Gracie and Mr. Whisper. Darla was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Darla was preceded in death by her father Alfred Holleman; grandparents Sammie “Jackie” Grimes and Josie Holleman; and stepfather Fred DuPont.

She is survived by her mother Linda Elaine DuPont of Malakoff; son and daughter-in-law James M. Jr. and Megan Clark of Donie, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Brandi R. and Bennie Choate of Malakoff; sister and brother-in-law Teresa Kaye and A.J. Jacks of Bismark, ND; grandchildren, Cailey Joann Clark, Colton James Clark, Cutter Jayce Clark, Caden Joseph Clark, Braeleigh Grace Elaine Choate, Mathew Tyler Dayton Watts, Andrew Payton Lee Wobig, and Braydon Alexzander Scott Wobig.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Rosalind Baker, Montana Clark, Jessica Tally, Ivory and David Choate, Jim Clark, and Daisy Cooper.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
