Obituary: Carolyn Duncan

Carolyn Duncan was born in Hillsboro on September 13, 1935 to WT and Opal Bessire. She moved to Henderson County in the 1950’s. She married and had two children, Cindy Dell Riddlesperger and William Jackson Riddlesperger, Jr. She attended beauty school and worked as a beautician at Laneata’s Beauty Shop in Malakoff, Texas for 40-plus years. In 1977 she married Kelly Duncan, the love of her life. She enjoyed gardening, coon hunting, watching the Mavericks play basketball and the Texas Rangers baseball team. She had a vivacious personality and was loved by all. She loved being a mother and was available at a moment’s notice to help her children. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and encouraged her children to follow the Lord.

She is preceded in death by a son, William Jackson Riddlesperger, Jr (Bill)

She is survived by her husband, Kelly J. Duncan, a daughter, Cindy R. Trammell and husband Gary, son, Billy Duncan and wife Shelly, daughter, Tina Little and husband Earl, daughter JoDee Duncan, and a son, Alan Duncan.

Grandchildren include Jennifer Robertson and husband Matt, Bryce Morgan, Stacy Hunt and husband Richard, Amy Paz and husband David, Scott Morgan and wife Tiffany, Doug Morgan and wife Mary, Amanda Hogan and husband Derek, Lyric Duncan, Billy Duncan, Jr., Kelly Frank Duncan, Duke Duncan and Dale Duncan. She has numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr funeral home on Monday evening, June 11, 2018 from 6:00-7:30 PM. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, with Bro. Frank Upchurch officiating. Burial to follow at Post Oak Cemetery.
