Obituary: Billy Jean Featherston

Billy Jean Featherston (Ms. Jeanie), 83, of Brownsboro, entered eternal peace Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Chandler Nursing Home under the care of Hospice of East Texas following a long illness.

Ms. Jeannie was born March 21, 1935 in Sweetwater, Texas to parents Andrew and Lillie Burns Hector. Raised by her paternal grandparents Arden and Rhoda Hector, she attended Sweetwater schools, as well as attended high school in Odessa, TX.

She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, and arts and crafts. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brownsboro and took great pleasure entertaining in her home as an avid game player of cards and dominoes.

Ms. Jeannie was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Featherston, sister Betty Massey-Shook and granddaughter Genia Massey. Survivors include three sons: Loyd (Pokey) and LuAnn Massey of Brownsboro, Alvis Massey (Pudgey) of Brownsboro, and Johnny Massey of Clinton, OK. Also four grandchildren: Johnny Lee and Courtney Massey of Brownsboro; Louis Massey of Eldorado, TX; Forrest White of Randlett, OK; and Amy Massey of Claremore, OK. She had eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and Johnnie Boy—her loving Yorkshire Terrier companion.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the East Texas Hospice may be made in honor of Ms. Jeannie.
