Obituaries: Nancy Louise Peterson Strain

Nancy Louise Peterson Strain was born August 29, 1926 in Oak Park, IL., she passed away on July 13, 2018 in Tyler, Texas.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband Robert Wood Strain, Athens, her step children, Robert, Jr. (Mary) Kensington, CT, John (Laura) Naperville, IL, and Lisa (Fred) Paine Fairport, NY, 5 step-grandchildren, Robert III, Thomas, Kathleen, Kelly, Alison, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Leonard and Anna Marie Peterson, and her siblings and their spouses, Phyllis Rathbun, Helen Pfaff, and Leonard (Pete) Peterson.

Nancy retired as a gift manufacturer representative from her own corporation on 5th Avenue in New York City. She was a devoted wife and servant of the Lord. She was a strong, independent woman, with a feisty, but playful, sense of humor. She loved attending church, caring for cats, solving crossword puzzles, and the camaraderie at the bridge studio. Nancy loved playing bridge and was a generous supporter of the Dottie Pirkle Bridge Studio in Athens. She always looked forward to her Monday’s and Thursday’s at the bridge studio. Nancy will be missed by many.
