Navarro County man arrested for theft of livestock in Cross Roads

On Feb. 16, Investigator Josh Rickman with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a case of Theft of Livestock. During the investigation, Rickman learned the cattle were stolen off of CR 1316 in the Cross Roads area of Henderson County. Rickman was able to identify the suspect as Tommy Dean Carver, 47, from Navarro County, Texas.

Rickman was able to track down where the cattle were sold which was at Hubbard Sale Barn in Hubbard, Texas and the Angus sale barn in Angus, Texas. Rickman obtained two arrest warrants for Tommy Carver for Theft of Livestock under 10 head, which are Third Degree Felony’s.

On Friday, Feb. 19, Rickman and Deputy Kyle Pochobradsky located Carver at a residence in Navarro County and took him into custody. Carver was transported to the Henderson County Detention Center and charged with two counts of Theft of Live Stock. As of Monday, Feb. 22, Carver was still in Jail with a total bond of $60,000.

A Third Degree Felony is punishable by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for any term of not more than 10 years or less than 2 years and a fine not to exceed $10,000 if found guilty.
