Meth Found As Man Booked Into Jail

On Tuesday, July 7, at approximately 5:01 a.m., Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputy Michael Cheseldine performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot in Athens. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Carl Brent Morse from the Chandler area. He was arrested on two warrants out of the Athens Municipal Court.

Morse was transported to the Henderson County Jail. After arriving inside jail, Morse was found to be in possession of a small baggie containing a crystal like substance believed to be Methamphetamine that was hidden on his person.

Morse was booked into the Henderson County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 1 gram but less than 4 grams, Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility and the two warrants out of Athens Municipal Court.
