Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls install new officers

The Gun Barrel City Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls installed new officers on June 16. Emily Currey was installed as Worthy Advisor, and the theme for her term is “Live Life in the Moment with No Regrets.” Her motto is “Live life for the moment because everything else in uncertain;” colors are the hues of dusk and dawn; flower, the Plumeria; mascot, the Phoenix bird; and her scripture is “Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created.”–Esther 4:14.

Samantha Ramos was installed in the office of Worthy Associate Advisor and Laura Walters was elected to Hope. Tara Trimmins and Kate Maxwell were appointed to the Bow Stations of Love (represented by the rainbow ray of red) and Religion (represented by the rainbow ray of orange) respectively. Mrs. Tonya Currey serves as Mother Advisor, and Mr. Dennis Currey will serve as Rainbow Dad.

The girls received awards recognizing their service hours and memory work, and Kate Maxwell received a certificate representing the fact that she has Masonic heritage. Installing Officers were: Ms. Carrie Currey, Installing Officer; Mrs. Lucy Gray, Installing Marshal; Mrs. Joyce Hagens, Installing Chaplain; Mrs. Rosalie Randall, Installing Recorder; and Mrs. Donna Dean, Installing Musician. Preceding the Installation Ceremony, everyone enjoyed visiting over sandwiches, chips, dips, root beer and coke floats, and cake.

The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a service-oriented, leadership organization for girls between the ages of 11 and 20. Rainbow Girls participate in a wide array of activities, including leadership training, service projects, competitions, and annual retreats. Their younger group, the Pledges, have activities for girls ages 7 to 10.
