ST. GEORGE, Utah — No. 12 seed Paris Junior College scored two runs in its final at-bat to walk off with a 5-4 victory over #13 seed Trinity Valley Community College in the consolation bracket of the 2013 NJCAA Division I Women’s Softball National Championship tournament Thursday afternoon at the Canyons Complex. Paris JC (37-18) will advance to play the loser of the Chipola College/Lake Land College matchup in another elimination game Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. (MDT). Meanwhile Trinity Valley (33-27) sees its 2013 tournament run and season end with the loss.

Trailing 2-1 in the sixth, Trinity Valley rallied for three runs, two of which came on a two-run single from Shelby Reddington, to take a 4-2 advantage. Paris answered with a single run in its half of the sixth to cut the deficit in half at 4-3, and completed the comeback with a pair of RBI-singles from Alexis Padilla and Emilee Reed to end the game.

Paris outhit TVCC 13-9, with Reed and Chelsea Jordan collecting two safeties apiece. Dragon reliever Ali Hargis pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win. Reddington and Candise Wise had two hits apiece to lead TVCC.
