King selected to lead TVCC while Forgey suspended

TVCC LogoDr. Jerry King was named President Pro Tem (temporary president) of Trinity Valley Community College Monday night, according to a college press release. Dr. King is a long time employee and Vice President of Instruction.

The move came after a special called meeting of the board Monday night.

The board suspended President Glendon Forgey with pay last week. Board President Ray Raymond told the Athens Daily Review the suspension came after the board was presented “conflicting governmental documents by the college president without acceptable explanation.”

According to Monday’s announcement, the college will post more details on its website Tuesday.
