Need a job? Then the TVCC Student Union Building is the place to be Wednesday morning.

Workforce Solutions of East Texas, the Athens Economic Development Corporation and Trinity Valley Community College are joining forces to host a job fair 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 4, on the second floor of the SUB.

Workforce Solutions Operations Manager Angelia Snow said there were 39 prospective employers lined up for the event.

“If you are looking for a job, please come out and see us because this is a great opportunity to find employment,” Snow said.

“Dress for success, ready to do an interview on site,” she said, adding that job seekers should have their resume in hand.

The mission of Workforce Solutions of East Texas is to, “Improve the quality of life through economic development by providing a first-class workforce for present and future businesses.”

“A lot of people think we are the unemployment office,” Snow said, “but we are the employment office. Anybody — general public, anybody off the street — can come into our office to look for job postings.”

Snow also highlighted that the job fair was a partnership between Workforce Solutions, AEDC and TVCC.

“If not for the EDC and TVCC this would not be happening,” she said.
