Answers routine inquiries and refers to appropriate departments or agencies. Must be able to operate computers, telephones, radios, recording equipment and related communication equipment.
Job Requirements: 40-hour TCOLE Telecommunicator Certification is preferred. Must be computer literate and have the ability to operate office equipment. Ability to type at least 30 words per minute. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Previous dispatching experience in the emergency response environment is preferred. Must take and pass tests for basic telecommunication courses within six months of employment.
