Hayden Elder honored with 2018 Livestock Show Catalog Dedication

Henderson County Livestock Show Past President Danny Davis, left, presents Hayden Elder with a plaque in honor of his selection for the 2018 Catalog Dedication Tuesday afternoon.

The following comes from the Henderson County Livestock Show website:

Hayden Elder and Elder Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Athens were selected as the 2018 Catalog Dedicatees. Hayden’s community service has been known for years. Whether it be supporting the schools of the county, sports programs, 4H programs, FFA chapters, the annual PRCA rodeo in Athens, the Henderson County Livestock Show and many other activities throughout Henderson County, Hayden, his family and Elder Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is always ready to help.

Hayden, his wife Susanne and children, Ashton and Forrest have all been involved in the Henderson County Livestock Show in many different areas. Ashton and Forrest were successful in the Horse Show and the Swine Shows. Ashton served as the HCLS Princess in 1999.

Susanne has been a part of the Queen & Princess Committee for several years. She and the other ladies on this committee have worked to encourage many young ladies to participate in this contest. Elder Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has been a constant supporter of this contest.

Hayden has been involved in the livestock show as a parent, board member, sponsor and buyer. During his time on the board, his thoughts on how to handle hard situations were always insightful and appreciated. Hayden has been a valuable supporter of the HCLS for years.

Hayden was also one of the founding members of the Stock Show Supporters. This group has raised over $600,000 for the exhibitors at the Henderson County Livestock Show. Hayden was instrumental in securing a $15,000 donation from Dodge Chrysler that set the stage for the success of this buyers group.

Elder Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is also one of the main sponsors of our Senior Dinner each year. This dinner is for all graduating seniors, who have participated in the livestock show, and their parents. This dinner has grown as we had over 70 seniors and approximately 200 attended in 2017.

We believe the Henderson County Livestock Show is the best in East Texas and one of the best in Texas. The success of our county show would not be possible without the support and dedication of individuals and businesses like Hayden Elder and Elder Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
