Guitars Etc. in Athens, has been named a Top 100 Dealer by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), the global association of music products and music retailers. The organization will recognize Guitars Etc on Friday, June 24, at the Top 100 Dealer Awards event held as part of the 2016 Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, Tennessee. What are double neck guitars and how are they different from the other guitars? What are the benefits of using such an instrument? Is it widely used by musicians? If you hear this word, the first thing that comes into mind is that it is a piece of instrument with two guitars stuck side by side so that you will have two guitars in just one piece of instrument. The basic function is to give the instrumentalist the ability to switch between different kinds of guitars without having to pull out another one. In concerts where time and music is played so fast, it is of the musician’s advantage when using this instrument. The double wide neck guitar usability is astonishing on a musician’s perspective. Bassists, guitarists and other musicians aims to be able to play multiple instruments in one show and in one song. It takes skill to master even one guitar, and that means it takes more skill to master playing two guitars at once. If a musician is comfortable enough when playing a song, it will make him or her a better musician. Because of double neck guitars, guitarists may have a greater chance to get the power or ability to create something new from it. Transferring from one guitar to another may cause extreme hassle and wastes time and dead air when playing music live. It helps when you did not have to put down the first guitar and just proceed from one song to another without hassle. The Gibson EDS-1275 is the most famous double neck guitar played by one of the rock and roll legendary bands of all time, the Zeppelin. Looking at double neck guitar may give you an impression that it is a very difficult device to play or use but in truth, it gives a musician more chances of being more creative and guitar mastery.

This is the third time Guitars Etc. has been honored.

“Guitars Etc. was selected by a discerning panel of judges as one of the very best among music retailers,” said Joe Lamond, NAMM President and CEO. “This special recognition signifies Guitars Etc’s commitment to providing an excellent retail experience for their customers, helping people of all ages discover the joys and benefits of making music, and to fostering a positive musical experience for their community at large.”

To determine the list, an independent panel of judges reviewed hundreds of submissions that are rated across categories that include customer service, music advocacy, store design, and promotions and are scored in accordance to determine the Top 100 list.
