Press release

The Gun Barrel City Economic Development Corporation, City of Gun Barrel City, and SPA Skate Parks of Austin, Texas shook hands and took the first step towards the building of the city’s new skate park.

“The GBC skate park will provide a great place for our children and young adults to gather to learn and refine their skating skills”, said Steven Schiff, President of the GBC EDC. “Aside from now having one of newest designed skate parks in the area, this site will bring new tournaments and increased revenues for our surrounding businesses” Schiff continues.

Former EDC Board Member and now Councilman Rob Rae wanted to personally thank former Mayor Jim Braswell in saying that “this project was started by Jim and Judy Braswell during Jim’s campaign for mayor and continued forward while he was seated as Mayor of Gun Barrel City”. Rae continues, “it is nice to know that this project is now coming to fruition for our city”.

Additional details of final location along with a timing and action plan will be disclosed at the conclusion of the feasibility study that will be conducted shortly.
