Eastern Star and Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls install officers

The Gun Barrel City Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls installed new officers on June 17. Samantha Ramos was installed as Worthy Advisor. Her motto is “She stood in the storm and when the wind did not blow her away, she adjusted her sails–Elizabeth Edwards”; colors are blue and white; the flower is the white rose; mascot is the hippo; and her scripture is “God will carry you through the storm.”–Isaiah 43:2. The following officers were also installed: Katie Schaefer (Worthy Associate Advisor), Emily Currey (Charity), Tara Trimmins (Faith), and Laura Walters (Religion). Samantha’s grandfather, Eddie Tracy, is Rainbow Dad, and Mrs. Tonya Currey serves as Mother Advisor.

Installing Officers for the ceremony were: Installing Officer, Ms. Michelle Sanderford (Past Worthy Advisor); Installing Recorder, Mrs. Cheryl Nix (Board Member & Past Worthy Advisor); Installing Chaplain and Marshall, Ms. Carrie Currey (Sister of Victory, GCC Team); and Installing Musician, Mrs. Donna Dean (Grand Deputy).

Immediately following this installation ceremony, the Pledges were installed into their offices for this term–Mason Phillips as Pledge Sister, Heavenlee Weldon as Associate Pledge Sister, and Caylee Weldon as Sister of Happiness.

After a lunch break in the Lodge’s Banquet Hall, the Gun Barrel City Chapter of Eastern Star proceeded to install their officers for the coming year. Ms. Michelle Sanderford was installed as Worthy Matron, and Mr. Chad Pate was installed as Worthy Patron. Her theme is “Align the Stars,” motto is “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”–Les Brown. Her emblems are the Crescent Moon & Stars; the flower is the red rose; colors are pink and pearl; and her scripture is “Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you shining stars.”–Psalm 148:3. The day was made particularly special when Michelle’s sister, Tara, presented her with her Rainbow Bible, and another Rainbow “sister,” Samantha Ramos, performed the Gavel Ceremony in presenting Michelle with her gavel.

The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a service-oriented, leadership organization for girls between the ages of 11 and 20. Rainbow Girls participate in a wide array of activities, including leadership training, service projects, competitions, and annual retreats. Their younger group, the Pledges, have activities for girls ages 8 to 10.
