Former Trinity Valley Community College head football coach Jim Owens (left) was presented the 2013 C.O. Phillips Memorial Award Friday, June 7, at the 26th Annual Coaches Playday at Twin Lakes Golf Course. The award is presented each year in memory of former Malakoff Junior High School coach C.O. Phillips, who was an avid golfer and a great ambassador for the game. He died in the summer of 2000.
