It is official — the City of Athens has a new city administrator.
The Athens City Council officially hired Phillip Rodriguez to be the city administrator this afternoon. Mr. Rodriguez will be coming to Athens from the Southlake, Texas city manager’s office.
I am sure there will be plenty of information about Mr. Rodriguez to come out in the the next few days, but I wanted to let Athens residents know they have a new city manager!
Mr. Rodriguez will be replacing Pam Burton, who stepped down as city administrator in December. Mrs. Burton was with the city for 36 years, 18 as the city administrator.
