HCPAC press release

The annual Christmas Youth Production begins this Friday at the Henderson County Performing Arts Center. “The Christmas Bus” is a story with humor, the spirit of giving, courage of convictions and funny characters such as Mrs. Frump, The Busybodies, Sheriff Snodgrass and a whole lot of orphans. The show is Rated G for general audiences. It is suitable for children of all ages.

Henderson County Performing Arts has been bringing a youth Christmas production to the community for over 25 years. This year there are 40 high-spirited, energetic kids in the show.

As Mrs. Frump, the orphanage director says, “It’s a madhouse!” She loves all the kids, though, and wants to give them a very special Christmas. The adventure entails an ‘appropriated’ bus, a traveling troubadour, nosy orphanage trustees, a suspicious sheriff and lots of gleeful shenanigans.

Each performance will also have a live Goodies Auction, starring Kenneth Stowe of A&E’s East Texas Storage Wars. Cakes, pies, cookies, candy and other assorted treats will be auctioned off at intermission. Attendees can take home holiday goodies for the pleasure of their families and friends during the holidays.

Reservations are strongly recommended and may be made at 903-675-3908 or online at www.hcpac.org. HCPAC is a 501(C)(3) non-profit corporation located at 400 Gibson Road, Athens, TX 75751.
