Chandler Man Arrested on Child Sex Assualt Charge

On November 15, HCSO Deputy D. Wright was dispatched to make contact with a caller in reference to a subject assaulting a child. Deputy Wright made contact with both the caller and the child and was told the neighbor, identified as Ephram Harmon, 73, of Chandler had sexually assaulted the child.

The case was assigned to HCSO Investigator Cayce Hampton who scheduled a Forensic Interview with the child at the Henderson County Help Center. During the interview at the Help Center an outcry of sexual abuse was made. Investigator Hampton presented an affidavit for a warrant to Justice of the Peace 1, Judge R. Daniel. Judge Daniel found probable cause existed and issued an arrest warrant for Harmon for Aggravated Sexual Assault of Child. This offense is punishable for up to 99 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System.

HCSO Deputy Keon Mack served the arrest warrant late Monday, November 17. Harmon was transported to the Henderson County Jail. On November 18, Judge Daniel arraigned Harmon and set his bail at $125,000. Harmon is still in custody at the time of this press release.

The Henderson County District Attorney’s Office has assisted the Sheriff’s Office with this investigation.
