The 2019 Cedar Creek Lake Area Day at the Texas State Capitol has been scheduled for February 4. The Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring the trip and making the arrangements. The cost per person will be $85 for chamber members and $100 for non-members. The nominal fee includes bus transportation, snacks on the bus and lunch at the Doubletree Hotel. As in years past, the only out-of-pocket expense to participants is what they may choose to spend at the Capitol Gift Shop.
This one-day trip to the state capitol of Texas is a powerful opportunity to be part of a unified group representing the entire Cedar Creek Lake Area community, with recognition from the floor of the House and the Senate in the 86th Texas Legislature. Invitations are being extended to Senator Robert Nichols, Senator Bob Hall, State Representatives John Wray and Keith Bell to join the Cedar Creek Lake delegation for lunch or at some point during the day if they’re unavailable for lunch. The chamber staff is working with Senator Nichols’ office on the arrangements.
In the afternoon, the group will meet in a reserved room in the Capitol, where the speaker agenda includes representatives from TxDOT and from Homeland Security. CCLACC President, Jo Ann Hanstrom, said, “We believe this line-up of speakers will be very interesting and will provide insight into current issues of concern to all of us.”
The trip will start in downtown Mabank at 5:00 AM and will depart Austin for the return trip at 4:00 PM, with an expected arrival back at the lake around 8:00 PM. There will only be one bus hired and space is limited, so you’re encouraged to make your reservation early. Call 903.887.3152 to reserve and pay by credit card, or stop by 604 S. Third St. Ste. E, Mabank, to make your reservation and pay in person. Email info@CedarCreekLakeChamber.com for more information.
Make your reservation now and plan to be a part of the traditional Cedar Creek Lake Area Day in the 86th Texas Legislature. It’s fun, it’s informative and it’s important to the community.
