TVCC Rodeo A Big Success

With more than 400 competitors representing 20 colleges, the 7th annual Trinity Valley Community College rodeo was a success last weekend at the Henderson County Fairpark Complex.

“We had a great rodeo with awesome fan support,” said TVCC rodeo coach Brent Bratton. “Like always, we appreciate our great volunteers and support from the community.

“The support and the great weather made for one of our most successful rodeos. I would like to thank everyone again who made this possible and for coming out and cheering on our team.”

TVCC’s top competitors were Cody Graham, Kyle Crow and Marley Hammer.

Graham, a Wills Point sophomore, placed sixth in Steer Wrestling in the long go and average.

Crow, a Lone Oak sophomore, split fifth place in Team Roping in the long go and sixth place in the short go and average.

Hammer, a Colorado freshman, split sixth place in Barrel Racing and in the first go, as well as ninth in Breakaway Roping.

Kopec, Meshack making a difference in SGA at TVCC

Kathrina Kopec and Kolby Meshack aren’t just biding their time and waiting for graduation at Trinity Valley Community College. They are making a difference in Student Government Association on local, regional and state fronts.

Kopec, a nursing major from Mabank, is a member of the SGA at TVCC and also serves as state treasurer. Meshack, a broadcast journalism major from Dallas, is the secretary of the TVCC chapter and editor of the Region 3 bulletin. Continue reading “Kopec, Meshack making a difference in SGA at TVCC”

TVCC Science Club Forensic Workshop

The Trinity Valley Community College Science Club is hosting its 2nd Annual Forensic Workshop on Friday, Feb. 13, from 9 a.m.-4 pm. in the Gibbs Academic Building.

In conjunction with the Criminal Justice Department’s Donna Bennett and Chief Newby from TVCC Campus Police, we will be leading students through a mock-up crime. Benny Rogers Receives Award
