Trinity Valley Community College’s Nancy Long has been named one of 31 recipients of the 2015 Phi Theta Kappa Continued Excellence Advisor Award, it was announced Monday.

Long, the college’s Math and Science Division chair, will be honored at the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society annual convention April 16 -18 in
San Antonio.

Are you read to “thINK big?”

The Trinity Valley Community College Cardettes are putting the finishing touches on their 32nd annual spring production, which is scheduled April 24-26 at the TVCC Auditorium.

“thINK big” is scripted to take the audience on a musical ride of how ink has been an influential part of our lives which once it is written it is set for life and never truly goes away.

TVCC Cheerleaders to Perform National Tournament Routine

The Cardinal Cheerleaders have scheduled two performances to show off their national tournament routine — Thursday, April 2 at 3:45 p.m. and Sunday, April 5 at 5 p.m. Both will be at Cardinal Gym.

The second performance on Easter Sunday will be the annual big showoff for the squad.

The public is invited to attend. There will be no admission charge.

The squad is scheduled to leave at 6 p.m. Monday, April 6 for Daytona Beach, FL and the national competition, which is scheduled April 9-10. The Cardinal Cheerleaders will perform in the prelims at 2:56 p.m. (Texas time) on Thursday, April 9. The finals are scheduled Friday.

The Cardinal Cheerleaders are seeking a 10th national title.

TVCC Inducts 55 to Phi Theta Kappa

???????????????????????????????Fifty-five Trinity Valley Community College students were inducted into the Iota Alpha Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at the Student Union Ballroom on the Athens campus on March 22.

Membership in Phi Theta Kappa, a national honors society for two-year colleges, requires a student to achieve a 3.5 GP, complete any required developmental courses and accumulate at least 12 semester hours of college credit. Membership entitles TVCC students to have the honor noted on their official transcripts and affords them the opportunity to wear the Phi Theta Kappa golden stole, tassel and/or medallion at graduation.
