Roberson sets TVCC school record for 3s

How was your Saturday? Probably not as good as the one experienced by Jairus Roberson.

The Cardinal sophomore was on fire against Fort Hood in the Lewis Orr Class at Navarro College. Roberson poured in a school record 13 three-pointers in a 45-point performance as the Cardinals stayed unbeaten with a 113-58 win.

Lady Cards headed to nationals

A season that appeared over has become a historic one for the Lady Cardinals.

They are headed to the national tournament for the first time in school history. The tournament is scheduled Nov. 15-17 in Hutchinson, KS.

Coach Tosha Spain’s squad, which is 25-6 on the year, drew a No. 9 seed and will play No. 8 Mineral Area (27-3) at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. The winner advances to face the winner between No. 1 Miami Dade and No. 16 Monroe at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

TVCC cuts the ribbon to rename its auditorium the Pauline Knight Perkins Performing Arts Center Monday, Oct. 22.

Trinity Valley Community College renamed its auditorium the Pauline Knight Perkins Performing Arts Center on Monday and established a $750,000 endowment for scholarships. The moves are part of a multi-million dollar gift left to the college by Athens attorney Nancy Perkins, the single biggest gift ever given to the college. Listen in as Vice President Kristen Bennett, President Dr. Jerry King, and Foundation Chairman Steve Grant talk about the gift and hits impact on the college.

Handing out game balls from TVCC’s 37-24 loss to Tyler

TVCC dropped a conference home game Saturday night and fell to 1-2 on the season.

The Tyler Apaches (1-2) rolled to a 37-24 win over the Cardinals behind the power of their running game, gaining more than 300 yards on the night and rushing for three touchdowns.

The game left both teams at 1-1 in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference.
