Chandler Man Arrested on Child Sex Assualt Charge

On November 15, HCSO Deputy D. Wright was dispatched to make contact with a caller in reference to a subject assaulting a child. Deputy Wright made contact with both the caller and the child and was told the neighbor, identified as Ephram Harmon, 73, of Chandler had sexually assaulted the child.

The case was assigned to HCSO Investigator Cayce Hampton who scheduled a Forensic Interview with the child at the Henderson County Help Center. During the interview at the Help Center an outcry of sexual abuse was made. Investigator Hampton presented an affidavit for a warrant to Justice of the Peace 1, Judge R. Daniel. Judge Daniel found probable cause existed and issued an arrest warrant for Harmon for Aggravated Sexual Assault of Child. This offense is punishable for up to 99 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System.

HCSO Deputy Keon Mack served the arrest warrant late Monday, November 17. Harmon was transported to the Henderson County Jail. On November 18, Judge Daniel arraigned Harmon and set his bail at $125,000. Harmon is still in custody at the time of this press release.

The Henderson County District Attorney’s Office has assisted the Sheriff’s Office with this investigation.

Drug Arrests in GBC

On November 16, 2014 Deputy Brad Beddingfield obtained a narcotic search warrant for a residence on Maple Valley Road in the Tamarack Addition in Gun Barrel City. During the execution of the search warrant suspected narcotics were located as well as items commonly used to traffic narcotics. Christopher Morgan and Azzie Byler were arrested and charged with Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG1 over 1 gram but under 4 grams. Azzie Byler was also charged with endangering a child. Also arrested at the scene were David Derhammer, who was charged with Possession of Marijuana 2 oz and Denise Bridges, who was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. All four subjects were taken to the Henderson County Jail.

If convicted of the Second Degree Felony Charge of ManufactureDelivery of a Controlled Substance Charge Christopher Morgan and Azzie Byler could each face up to 20 years in the state penitentiary and up to a $10,000 fine.

Lieutenant Charles Severn, Investigators Wick Gabbard, Brad Gray, Billy Jack Valentine and Deputies Sargent Mitch Baker and Eric Cieri were involved in executing the search warrant along with the assistance of officers from the Gun Barrel City Police Department.

Man Arrested on Warrants, Drug Charges

On Friday, November 14, 2014, at approximately 11:19 p.m., Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Linus Moulton served three outstanding felony warrants for Credit Card/Debit Card Abuse and two counts of Burglary of Vehicle with two or more previous convictions on Daniel Oneil at Eddy’s Bar located on Flat Creek Road in Athens. After Deputy Moulton arrested Daniel for the outstanding warrants, Deputy Moulton located three small baggies containing methamphetamine and a hypodermic needle on Daniel’s person. Daniel was transported to the Henderson County Jail and booked in for Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1 >= 1G<=4G a third degree felony, Credit Card/Debit Card Abuse a State Jail Felony, two counts of Burglary of Vehicle with two or more previous convictions. In the state of Texas, Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1 >= 1G<=4G is a Third Degree Felony.

If found guilty an individual shall be punished by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice not more than 10 years or less than two years and a fine not to exceed 10,000. Credit Card/Debit Card Abuse and Burglary of Vehicle with two or more Previous Convictions is a State Jail Felony. An individual found guilty of a State Jail Felony shall be punished by confinement in a state jail for any term of not more than two years or less than 180 days and a fine not exceed 10,000.

One Arrested on Drug Charges in Eustace

Henderson County narcotic officers have had an ongoing investigation of narcotic trafficking at 103 Smith Street in Eustace. On Thursday, Nov. 13, Henderson County Narcotic Investigator Kendell Wellman received probable cause for a search warrant on Terri Nicole Hawkins at her residence in Eustace. A probable cause affidavit was submitted to Judge Milton Adams. Judge Adams did find enough probable cause existed and issued a search warrant for this residence.

Brownsboro Man Sentenced to Life for Sexual Assault of Child

David Lynn Sellers, 39, of Brownsboro was sentenced to Life in the Texas Department of Corrections Monday by Judge Carter Tarrance in the 392nd District Court for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.

Sellers pled guilty to the offense and opted for the judge to assess his punishment after hearing evidence. Assistant District Attorneys Jenny Palmer and Daniel Cox prosecuted the case for Scott McKee’s District Attorney’s Office

A Henderson County Grand Jury indicted Sellers for the offense in December of last year after an investigation by Nick Webb of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began after an outcry was made by an 8-year-old female child who told her mother that Sellers had sexually abused her repeatedly and over a period of time.
