A memorial service for Ruenell Eloise Hegwood, 86, of Athens, is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Central Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Gibbs officiating.

She passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 in Athens.

Ruenell was born June 20, 1926 in Arlington, Texas to John Jay and Ann Eason Jay. She was employed as an inspector for Justin Boot Company and loved travelling, gardening, and enjoying time with friends. Ruenell was a member of Central Baptist Church in Athens.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Ruenell is survived by husband Gordon Hegwood of Cross Roads; children Joe Ford and wife Alicia of N. Richland Hills, Ginny Stockton of Cross Roads, Gene Ford of Athens, Rocky Ford of Athens; two step-children, Charles Johnson and wife Sue of Flint, Fred Hegwood and wife Sandra of Mercedes, Calif.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Obituary: Durwood Dingler

LARUE — Services for Durwood Dingler, 87, LaRue are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at LaRue Baptist Church with Rev. Olin Boles and Rev. Gary Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in LaRue Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

Durwood died Feb. 25, 2013 in Tyler.

He was born July 21, 1925 in Poynor to the late Raymond Milton and Lena Vanderver Dingler and was a life time resident of LaRue. Durwood served in the U S Army with a tour including North Africa up through Italy during World War II. He received his purple heart in the actions at Poe Valley. He was a member of LaRue Baptist Church and had been employed many years at Athens Canning Company and Curtis Mathis Manufacturing Company. He loved gardening, hunting , fishing and visiting with friends.

Durwood was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Dingler in 1999 and son Mackael Durwood Dingler.

Survivors include son Randy Dingler and wife Carol, Tyler; grandchildren Kevin Dingler and wife Tracy, Cammy Hensley and husband Matt, both of Tyler; great grandchildren Macy and Lexi Meggs, Tyler; brothers Marion Dingler and wife Alice, Winona, Louie Dingler and wife Geri, Tyler; sister Gene Blackburn, Dayton, numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Ellis Crossley, Delbert Crawford, Marvin Miller, Joe Young, Joe Beard, Billy Cramer.

Visitation for family and friends will be 12:30 until service time at the church.

Obituary: Raymond Eugene Duckett

Services are pending for Raymond Eugene Duckett, 76, of Log Cabin.

Mr. Duckett was born on June 19, 1936 in Grandview, Texas to the home of Shelby Duckett and Connie Hartis. he passed away on Feb. 25, 2013 in Athens.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Shirley Duckett; children Trena Davis and Elisha Ann Duckett; grandchildren Tina Taylor, Meagan Gunter, Michael Gunter, Amy Parish, and Randy Davis and other family and friends.

Obituary: Connie Denice Nesbitt

Connie Denice Nesbitt, 42, of Eustace was born on Nov. 2, 1970 in Sulphur, La. to the home of Terry Lee Nesbitt and Shirley Ann Berry. She passed away on Feb. 25, 2013 at her home in Eustace.

Connie graduated from High School at North Caddo, La. Connie (Mom) was a loving and caring mother to her three kids, an overall great person to everyone she knew; truly a good woman.

She is preceded in death by her father.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Christopher Shane Nesbitt, Chase Alan Nesbitt and wife Niki, Morgan Leigh Ann Phillips and fiancée David Stegall; mother Shirley Ann; brothers Terry Wayne Nesbitt, Keith David Nesbitt, and Clinton Wayne Nesbitt and wife Tiffany; grandchildren Conner Stegall and Dakota Nesbitt; and many other family and friends. She will be dearly missed by so many.

Services are pending.

Obituary: Billie Frances Christian

Billie Frances Christian, 86, went to be with her Lord Feb. 25, 2013 in Athens. She died peacefully with family by her side.

Billie was born the daughter of Willie Lee and Texie Burns Brown October 30, 1926 in Commerce. She was raised in Commerce and graduated from Commerce High School. Billie also attended East Texas State University. She married Fred A. Christian Nov. 20, 1946. They moved to Odessa where she worked in payroll and accounting for the Ector County Public Schools for 30 years. She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Odessa. After retirement she and Fred moved to Fort Pierce, Fla. for a few years then moving to Athens which became their home the past 27 years. Billie’s hobbies included cooking, collecting recipes, reading, tending her roses and watching football games. She found great enjoyment daily watching birds outside her kitchen window. She always loved and welcomed any opportunity to spend time with her family.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 66 years, Fred Christian, who passed away just two weeks prior to her on Feb. 9, 2013.

Survivors include daughter Lydia Haynes and husband Bruce, Athens; son Larry Christian and wife Betty, Athens; granddaughter Christi Stelter and husband Brandon, McKinney; four step-grandsons and their spouses, seven step great grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 in Carroll Lehr Funeral Chapel with Rev. Perry Eaton officiating.

Private interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Athens.
