Obituary: Ray C. Hubbard

Ray C. Hubbard, 60, passed away on March 19, 2013 in Corsicana. Mr. Hubbard was born on Feb. 7, 1953 in Ralls, Texas to Anthony Y. and Louvenia Hornbuckle Hubbard.

Ray was a longtime member of Cedar Fork Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers, Luberta Kelly, Curtis Hubbard, Fretie Patrick, Willie B. Terrell, Senora Gasaway, Zola Womack, Lottie Livingston, Earnest Hubbard, and Percell Hubbard. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray is preceded in death by his parent,s Anthony and Louvenia Hubbard; brothers, RD Hubbard and, AY Hubbard Jr.; sisters, Louvenia Hubbard and Clara Kelly.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, March 23 at 11 a.m. at Cedar Fork Baptist Church, Trinidad. Service for Mr. Hubbard will be at 1 p.m. at Cedar Fork with Pastor Cory Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Trinidad.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Graveside services for Lois M. Crutchfield, 77, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Owen Cemetery in Athens with Chaplain Susan Detweiler officiating.

Ms. Crutchfield went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2013 in Athens.

Lois Mildred Pearce Crutchfield was born May 18, 1935 in Kennard, Texas the daughter of Jim Pearce and Fannie Adell Bairfield Pearce. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Athens and was a true Matriarch of her family. She worked until her retirement at Curtis Mathis in Athens. “Shorty Avers” as her father called her was a feisty woman who loved her family. She also truly loved her longtime companion, a Chihuahua named Angel. Granny was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Elvin “Biggon” Crutchfield; two sons, Clifford McKinnon, Jimmy McKinnon; and two sisters, Willa Mae Pearce and Gladys Pearce.

Lois is survived by her five children, Evelyn McKinnon of Athens, Elizabeth Faye Crutchfield of Athens, Gloria Jean Irvin and husband Danny of Athens, Loretta Crutchfield of LaRue, Allen McKinnon of Malakoff; one brother, Tommy Pearce and wife Lois of Dibbles, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Elkon Crutchfield, Dakota Crutchfield, LaChance Crutchfield, Ashley McKinnon, Ray McKinnon, Angela McKinnon, Marilyn Crutchfield, Eva Crutchfield, Shayvonne DeLois Johnson and numerous great-grandchildren

Visitation will be held prior to the Graveside services from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.

Pallbearers will be Gene Julian, Tommy Chitty, Daniel Irvin , Joe Irvin, Danny Irvin, Ronnie Burden, Deke Crutchfield and Tracey Baggett.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.

W. Gene Ketcham , age 87 passed away on March 16, 2013 in Corsicana. Mr. Ketcham was born on Aug. 3, 1925 to Earnest Ethen and Nora B. Hines Ketcham in Pike County, Ohio.

Gene served our country in the Air Force and was a paint contractor by trade.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Nora Ketcham; wife Frances Ketcham; and son Charles Stone; brothers Johnny, Wendell, and Lloyd Ketcham; sisters Helen Pettit, Elsie, and Mary.

He is survived by son Jon Ketcham; daughter-in-law Barbara Stone; grandchild Marie Stone; sisters Lucille Shaner and Ruth Moon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family is asking everyone to gather together on Wednesday, March 20, at 10:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church, which is located at 107 S. College Street, Malakoff. Everyone will proceed to the graveside service to be held at 11 a.m. at the Malakoff Cemetery with Bro. Charles Kimble officiating.

Bess was born March 21, 1936 in Dexter, Mo. to Alma Marie (Patterson) and Marion Bess, and passed away in Mabank March 15, 2013.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sherline Bess; daughter, Shirley Hibdon and husband Frank; daughter, Barbara Williams; daughter Debbie Stidger and husband Robert; daughter Nancy Longoria and husband Enis; daughter Connie Stamper and husband Michael; daughter Sherry Houston and husband Phillip; brothers, Cledis and Ronnie; sisters Della Mae and Joyce; 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.

Services for Travis Wright, 82, of Brownsboro are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with Rev. Buddy Powell officiating. Graveside services will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the auspices of Masonic Lodge # 1051 AF & AM.

Mr. Wright died Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Tyler.

He was born Nov. 14, 1930 in Enloe to Artie Benjamin and Hattie Mae Beckham Wright and resided in Brownsboro for the past 38 years. He was a member of First United Methodist church. Travis served on the Brownsboro Independent School District Board of Directors for several years. He also coached youth league sports in the Brownsboro area 15 years. He was a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge # 1051.

Travis was preceded in death by daughter Teresa Hall in 2010; grandson Cooper Wright in 2004; three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include wife of 46 years, Minnie Lou Wright, Brownsboro; sons Chad Wright and wife Amy, Venus, Todd Wright and wife Keri, Flint; daughter Shannon Brown, Fort Worth; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
