Sandra Pauline Skinner McDonald Tregre, 77, of Gun Barrel City was born on March 1, 1936 to the home of Harry and Beartha Skinner and passed away in on May 27, 2013 in Kaufman.

Sandra was a nun for the order of Mt. Saint Scholastica and taught art for over 20 years. She was a skilled sculptress and was commissioned to do a statue of Hank Williams and Lefty Frizell which is in Corsicana.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband C. D. “Doug” McDonald; second husband Gene Tregre; and sister Gil Thompson.

She is survived by stepson Doug McDonald, Jr.; godson Collin McDonald; brother Ed Skinner and brother-in-law Jim Thompson and other family members and many friends.

Rosary services will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Moorhead Epps Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City. Mass Of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Gun Barrel City.

Funeral services for James A. Glover, 65, Athens have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with Rev. Erick Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

James died Thursday May 23, 2013 in Athens.

He was born July 3, 1947 to Racel Odell and Audrey Lee Irby Glover and had been a resident of Athens most of his life. He attended Athens High School and later completed his education to become a Peace Officer. James served the City of Athens as a Police Officer for five years and then served 19 years and retired from the City of Tyler Police Department.

Celeste Brooks Welch was born Dec. 2, 1917 in Gresham, Texas the daughter of James Andrew Spivey and Annie Laura Holbrook Spivey. She was a longtime member of the Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler. She served as the First President of the East Texas Square and Round Dance Association. She loved to crochet, was a wonderful seamstress but her true passion was gardening. Lois Harris, 77, of Malakoff passed away on May 22, 2013 in Athens. Lois was born Oct. 20, 1935 to Ancil Marion and Beaulah Irene Morrison.

Lois was a lifetime resident in the Malakoff area. She was very active in the community. She wrapped her life and love around her children and grandchildren. She had many little sayings that she loved to tell to show her love such as “I love you little, I love you big, I love you like a little pig.” She was always present at school functions cheering them on in all their activities. Lois loved to travel and never met a stranger.
