Funeral services for James F. “Jim” Edwards, 83 of LaRue, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Athens. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens.

Mr. Edwards passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 in Magnolia, Texas.

James Frank Edwards was born March 28, 1930 in Terrell, the son of Opher Edwards and Mae Marie Hopkins Edwards. He was raised a Baptist and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Port Neches, Texas. He joined the Air Force and later worked as a supervisor for The Federal Aviation Administration as a supervisor. He married the love of his life Mary Mae Rounsavall in 1958 in. Graveside services for Johnny Ray Knott, 75, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens with Rev. R.G. “Skip” Ericson officiating.

Mr. Knott passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013 in Athens after a long illness.

Johnny Ray Knott was born Oct. 11, 1937 in Palestine, Texas the son of Joe Sidney Knott and Johnnie Alice Groom Knott. He began his teaching career in Cayuga ISD in 1963 before moving to Athens as a teacher and coach for the Athens Independent School District for over 33 years. Coach Knott as he was known coached football, basketball and track for many years and was loved by his students. He was also on the AISD Board of Trustees for three years. Johnny worked as a caretaker at Catfish Creek Ranch south of Athens since 1961. He loved gardening, hunting, and was an avid fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and will be greatly missed by his family and a host of friends and former students.

Burial will follow in Becks Chapel Cemetery.

Obituary: Donna Marie Anthony Bouchez Garrett

Donna Marie Anthony Bouchez Garrett, 52, of Eustace, was born on May 6, 1961 in Kaufman to the home of Delma Gene Anthony and Hilda Marie Horton Anthony. She passed away on June 11, 2013 in Tyler.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Nicholas Shane Bouchez.

Left to cherish her memory are husband, Charles Henry Garrett “Junior”; children Amanda Marie Garrett and husband Eric Brand, Kayla Jean Garrett and Jamie Lee Garrett; one grandchild Ana-Marie Nicole Brand; and sister Lisa Jean Anthony Parker and husband Curtis and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Moorhead Epps Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Moorhead Epps Memorial Chapel, officiated by Bro. John Stocks, with burial following at Goshen Cemetery in Eustace.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Lee Garrett, Tuff Lucas, Rowdy Lucas, Jon Ryan Parker, Travis Anthony Parker, and Matt Wilson.

Obituary: Lien Pham Maxwell

Lien Pham Maxwell of Mabank passed away on June 11, 2013 at the age of 66.

Lien was born on Nov. 16,1946 to Hoai Thi Pham in Saigon, Vietnam.

She is survived by her son, Mark Maxwell; daughters, Kim Maxwell and Rubi Pham; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hoai Thi Pham; husband, John Maxwell.

Services are pending at a later date under the direction of Huckabee/Tomlinson Funeral Home, Malakoff.
