Cross Roads State Champions Wall of Fame

On Friday, Nov. 1, Cross Roads ISD inducted six students and alumni into their Cross Roads State Champions Wall of Fame. These individuals place 1st place or were named to a 1st team All-State Team while competing in a State competition while attending Cross Roads High School. Each year, the district will name additional students to this list of outstanding alumni. The 2013 inaugural class included left to right: Cooper Bane, a junior at Cross Roads that placed 1st place this summer in the Texas High School Rodeo Association Team Roping competition. Natalee Alexander, a 2013 graduate of Cross Roads. Natalee place 1st place in the High Jump completion her sophomore year at the State track meet. Jennifer Craig Godwin, a 1995 graduate. Jennifer was the Texas State Champion for Tennis, Girls Singles for four straight years, 1992-1995. hasity Pryor Ramirez, a 2008 graduate. Chasity was named to the 1st team All- State team by the Texas Sports writers Association as well as the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. Danny Hughes, a 1984 graduate that was named to the Texas High school all star game. Connie McKinnerney-Clancey, a 1983 graduate. Connie was the UIL State Champion for twirling for three years, 1981-1983.

What a great week it was to be a Bulldog.

The Freshman Lady Dogs are UNDEFEATED District Champs.
They finished their season on Tuesday night with a win over Scurry. Congratulations Girls!!!!!
The Varsity Lady Dogs remain undefeated also.
On Tuesday both Varsity and JV defeated Scurry.
Then on Friday they defeated Faith Family. Way to go Ladies!!!!!!

Also the Lady Dogs are continuing to raise money for DIG Pink. There will be items(good baked items) for auction at all home Volleyball and Football Games.

Varsity & JV Boys and Girls are District Champs. Congratulations Boys and Girls!!!!!
The Cross Country teams competed at the District Meet last Monday at Four Pines Ranch, just down the road here in Eustace.

They we very successful! The boys and girls JV and Varsity teams were all meet champions. And that qualifies the Varsity teams for the regional meet.

The Varsity Girls team placed 1st overall and were lead by Freshman Skye Burns who was also individual meet champion and ran a 13:24. Next was Shelby White who placed 3rd, Alyssa Shaddox and Chloe Moore placed 5th and 6th, and Breanna Ragan placed 10th.

The Varsity Boys team placed 1st overall and were led by Junior Mark Zimmerer who placed 2nd and ran a 17:11, next was Hunter Rose who placed 3rd, Brandon Richardson placed 4th, Preston Schwartz placed 7th, and Ayden Reed placed 8th. Continue reading “The Eustace Bulldog Report”

Cross Roads High School to unveil All-State Wall of Champions

Cross Roads High School will be unveiling its All-State Wall of Champions this week. Photos of the inductees will be permanently displayed in the school’s auditorium.

The first class of recipients will be honored before the Friday, Nov. 1, varsity football game.

The inaugural class includes:

  • Connie McKinnerney- 3 Time UIL State Champion Twirling 1981, 1982, 1983
  • Danny Hughes 1984 Class 1-A All State Guard Texas High School Coaches Association All State Game
  • Jennifer Craig Godwin- 4 Time Class 2-A State Champion Girls Singles Tennis 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995
  • Chasity Pryor Ramirez- 2008 TABC & TSWA Class 1-A 1st Team All State
  • Natalie Alexander- Class 1-A State UIL High Jump Champion 2011, 3rd Place State 2012, 2nd Place State 2013
  • Cooper Bane- Texas High School Rodeo Association Team Roper State Champion 2013.
