Woman arrested for Burglary of a Habitation, intent to Commit Assault

On Thursday, Aug. 27, Deputy Rickman with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to an intoxicated person in the Westwood beach subdivision in Chandler. Upon Rickman’s arrival at the address he located Brandi Morgan, 35, of Chandler, who appeared to be intoxicated.

During Rickman’s investigation, he learned that Brandi entered a residence without the owner consent and assaulted the owner while inside the residence. Morgan was taken into custody and was transported to the Henderson County Detention Center.

Morgan was charged with Burglary of a Habitation with intent to Commit Assault, which is a First Degree Felony punishable by 5 years to 99 years in Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison and a fine up to $10,000 dollars. At the time of the press release Brandi Morgan was still in jail waiting to be arraigned.

Chandler Library announces new reading program

The Chandler Public Library has announced a new Reading Program for preschool children. “1000 Books Before Kindergarten: Read It and Reap!” will kick-off Sept. 1 at the library. The program for preschool age children encourages parents to read and share stories on a daily basis to instill in children a love of reading as well as improving brain development.
