Cain Center Revitalization Public Forum scheduled for Monday

The City of Athens will hold a public forum 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29., concerning the recent plan to turn the Cain Center into a municipal building.

The meeting will take place at the Athens Partnership Center, 201 W. Corsicana Street.

The City says this will be the first of several Cain Center Revitalization Public Forums.

The Athens City Council is scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. following the public forum.

The city released the following video about the Cain Center plan last week.

  1. Well, the timing of “the meeting” is either poorly thought out OR very well planned! The typically working hours of employed people ( the working tax payers) will preclude them for attending! Of course this reduces the amount of input to be offered, concerns to be voiced, & reduces the need for any actions to be addressed by the “city officials”! So you tell me “poorly planned OR VERY WELL THOUGHT OUT!!!!
