Bel Air Elementary School fifth-graders participated in a science fair Thursday, May 26. Shelby Dorsey (left) won first place with his investigation of how pH levels relate to the sourness of candy. Nevaeh Salinas (center) won second with a look at how quickly different brands of crayons melt in comparison to one another. Caleb Herrera (right) won third place by answering the question, “What makes the different kinds of balls travel different distances when the same amount of force is applied?” Allison McCain, Jared Duran and Holden Disotell also earned honorable mentions.
