Obituary: Jean Shavor

Funeral Services for Jean Shavor, 79, of Brownsboro are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Leagueville Baptist Church in Leagueville with Rev. James Craver officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m., in Longview at Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Shavor went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 12, 2013 in Tyler.

Jean Shavor was born June 7, 1933 in Greggton, Texas the daughter of Rufus Leonard Craver and Birdie Spence Craver. She was a member of the Leagueville Baptist Church and devoted much of her time serving as a member of the prayer team, singing in the choir and cooking for grieving families. PWC celebrates anniversary, installs officers

The Pinnacle Women’s Club celebrated its 15th anniversary recently with a birthday party at the Pinnacle Club.

While the 70 members were enjoying their cake and ice cream, they were treated to a video featuring highlights from the last 15 years. The video included “The Way We Were” and “We Are Family” as background music. This delightful video was created by Jerry Tate, the husband of member, Ann Tate.

Hardin competes at triathlon

Allison Hardin competed last weekend in Cypress for Athens High School at the Texas High School Triathlon Championships. Her AHS swim coach Caroline Maxvill took her. She placed 7th overall competing against 9-12th graders. It consisted of a 500 meter swim, 14 mile bike and 3 mile run. (COURTESY PHOTO)

Obituary: Rebecca ‘Becky’ Sue Thomas

Rebecca “Becky” Sue Thomas of log Cabin passed away on May 10, 2013 at the age of 52.

Becky was born on Sept. 25, 1960 in Eustace to James Elmo and Ruth Latham Irby.

She is survived by Ruben Manning; sons, Aron and wife Karrie Irby, Chris and wife Sarah Thomas, brothers, Randy and Dinker Irby; sisters, Diane Henderson and Linda Arterburne; 9 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruth Irby; husband, James Thomas; sister, Kathy Southern.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 10 a.m. to noon at Huckabee/ Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff. Service will follow at noon May 14, 2013 at Huckabee/Tomlinson Funeral Home, Malakoff.
